Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesnInstruction and ELL Team SupportnSupport ELL Teachers during push-in and pull-out instructional sessions.nLead small-group pull-out instruction (e.g., WIN groups) using provided plans across Grades 1–5.nWork with individual students or small groups to reinforce language learning goals, vocabulary development, and classroom tasks.nSupport students with diverse academic language needs. nMaintain strong classroom management and engagement during small-group instruction.nAssist students in understanding ELL support routines and expectations in age-appropriate ways.nHelp students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English.nSupporting Students in and out of the classroom setting nHelp students develop organization, independence, and age-appropriate academic routines.nSupport student engagement, positive behavior, and confidence in classroom and small-group settings.nAssist ELL teachers with the preparation, organization, and adaptation of instructional materials.nSupervise students during transitions, learning activities, and ELL-related sessions as needed.nSupport a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for young multilingual learners.nCollaboration and Professional PracticenProactively check in with ELL teachers and team leader to identify needs.nContribute to team efficiency through strong follow-through and responsiveness.nShare observations about student progress, language development, and needs with the ELL Teachers.nParticipate in meetings, training sessions, and professional learning as required, with a focus on improving practice.nCommunicate professionally and respectfully with students, families, and colleagues.nDemonstrate professionalism in attendance, punctuality, conduct, and confidentiality.nAssist with administrative and organizational tasks related to ELL services, including preparation of materials, assessment support, and documentation.nSystems and Program SupportnMaintain and update ELL documentation systems, including spreadsheets (e.g., language profiles, WIN groups, tracking data).nPrepare, organize, and manage instructional materials (printing, copying, digital files).nMaintain and organize shared folders, files, and resources for the ELL team.nSupport team efficiency by anticipating logistical needs and ensuring materials and systems are ready in advance.nCertifications and EducationnRequirednHigh school diploma or equivalent.nDesirednCoursework or degree in Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, Pedagogy, or a related field.nTraining or experience working with multilingual learners or elementary-aged students.nExperiencenRequirednExperience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth-focused setting.nAbility to collaborate with teachers and staff in support of student learning.nDesirednExperience supporting English Language Learners in elementary or Lower School settings.nExperience working in international or multicultural environments.nExperience supporting students in inclusive or language-learning environments.nKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesnRequirednProficiency in English.nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with young children.nAbility to support students in structured and unstructured learning environments.nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.nStrong communication skills and a supportive, developmentally responsive approach.nAbility to manage small groups of students independently with appropriate classroom managementnOrganizational and data management skills (e.g., spreadsheets, tracking systems)nComfort with basic educational technology tools (e.g., Google Workspace). nDesirednProficiency in another language (e.g., Portuguese or others) is an asset.nBasic understanding of second-language acquisition principles.nAbility to support students with diverse learning and cultural backgrounds.nExperience working in structured, team-based educational environments
